Scope

ICDL 2027 covers the physical, chemical, and dielectric properties of insulating liquids, their applications and diagnostics in HV apparatus (transformers, cables), and emerging directions like nanofluids and biodegradable esters, addressing physicists, chemists, material scientists and electrical engineers engaged in research and practical applications of insulating liquids and their apparatus.

Why Chania

The Region

The city of Chania offers direct flights from major European hubs and a strong tourism infrastructure, making travel and accommodation straightforward for international delegates. The island combines conference logistics with cultural draw: Minoan archaeological sites, coastal landscape, and a mild June climate suited to an outdoor-friendly program.

Chania pairs a working university campus with a historic old town and harbor. Delegates get a compact, walkable conference base with easy access to the wider island for pre- or post-conference travel.

Technical University of Crete (TUC)

TUC sits in Chania, on the northwest coast. The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering runs active research in high voltage engineering, insulation systems, and power systems, under groups including Prof. Peppas’s lab. Hosting ICDL 2027 puts TUC’s dielectric liquids and lightning protection work in front of the IEEE DEIS community and the transformer industry players who will attend.
